This December we are focusing our
bankruptcy library articles on debt: what is good debt, what is bad debt, and how you should go about paying off your debts. The vast majority of Americans have some form of debt, whether it is a mortgage, a car payment, or credit card debt, and as many as 20 percent of those living in the United States are carrying too much debt.
In three separate articles this month, we are exploring the different types of debt and the best strategies for paying off debt. In some cases, individuals and families can re-budget and fight debt on their own. In other cases, the best option to escape from debt and reestablish a normal life is to petition for bankruptcy. Hopefully, these articles can help you better understand your own debt situation and your best plan of action.
